About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in development, marketing, sales, management, and fundraising. They will be responsible for developing comprehensive strategies and approaches to communicate and market our brand proposition and CEO/board members' image locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

This role involves setting annual fundraising goals and managing funding and expense budgets. You will work closely with our CEO and CAFO to create advancement plans and institutional marketing goals reflecting the strategic goals of our organization. We aim to significantly increase contributed revenue, earned revenue, high-impact partnerships, community awareness, and powerful connections with both our existing stakeholders and emerging audiences.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and refine giving priorities and translate those into compelling opportunities for philanthropy and persuasive proposals.
  • Set and implement annual fundraising goals and manage funding and expense budgets.
  • Develop and implement special fundraising campaigns as needed, working with each fundraiser to increase contributed revenue goals and donor satisfaction.
  • Oversee the training, mentoring, and attainment of goals of the development team.
  • Develop comprehensive plans and strategies for communicating and marketing our brand proposition and CEO/board members' image.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in business, marketing, public policy, or related fields preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in development/marketing/sales/management/fundraising; nonprofit experience is preferred.
  • Experience implementing comprehensive fundraising and change management strategies.
  • Strong communication, writing, and editing skills to ensure connectivity to our mission and appropriate style and usage.
  • Strategic, analytical approach combined with strong work ethic and interpersonal professionalism.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, proven interpersonal skills with an ability to build capacity in peers.

The estimated salary for this position is between $150,000 and $165,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
