Discovery Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at St. Andrew's Village. As a key member of our senior living community, you will be responsible for developing and implementing food services policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement menus and menu cycles that meet cultural and regional food preferences and resident dietary guidelines.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of food, including food temperatures, portion control, palatability, and attractiveness.
- Lead and train kitchen staff to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Order food and chemical supplies, receive and validate deliveries, and conduct regular inventory.
- Conduct Quality Assurance Audits and implement changes to ensure quality.
- Practice safe and sanitary food handling and adhere to all safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Negotiate and sign food service agreements with vendors.
- Select, schedule, and conduct orientation and in-service educational programs for personnel.
- Monitor monthly expenditures and ensure compliance with budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in food service environment.
- Food safety training certification.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire team members.
