Neurosurgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Regional One Health is seeking a skilled Neurosurgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide weekend coverage for our neurosurgery team. As an advanced practice provider, you will be responsible for performing a complete and accurate history and physical, consultation note or daily progress note according to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in the OR with residents, assisting with surgeries and performing procedures
- Hospital rounding, conducting progress notes according to established protocols
- Follow up on OR patients, calling consults, obtaining consents, adjusting drains, removing drains, scheduling imaging and testing
- Clinic assignment 2 days per week, seeing in excess of 30 patients per day
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program; Master's preferred
- Two (2) years of Surgery / First Assist experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred
- Active unencumbered Tennessee Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (or registry eligible required)
Physical Demands:
Constant walking, standing; lifting and positioning patients/equipment; exposure to infectious agents. Visual acuity is needed to access color changes. Night, weekend and holiday coverage of inpatient census. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move patients and/or equipment.
