Preventative Maintenance Specialist

At Modern Disposal Services, we are seeking a skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance services on all types of trucks and/or equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including compactor, excavator, wheel loader, and other vehicles.
- Inspect truck and/or heavy equipment for condition, operation and fluid levels, identifying and designating problems with equipment.
- Power wash equipment as necessary.
- Check, fill and change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts, including engine, transmission, differentials, final drives, pump drives and hubs.
- Grease, oil and lubricate components during preventative maintenance service.
- Perform adjustments to various systems during preventative maintenance service.
- Maintain and/or change air, oil, coolant and fuel filters.
- Perform cooling systems maintenance.
- Check safety equipment on truck and/or equipment.
- Inspect tires.
- Complete paperwork associated with preventative maintenance services and repairing equipment, documenting parts usage and accounting for applied times.
- Drive truck and/or equipment in and out of repair area.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Excel and word processing applications.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree.
- NYS Inspectors License (Preferred).
