Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Interventional Technologist to join our team at ChristianaCare in Newark, Delaware. As a vital member of our VIR team, you will provide technical support for vascular interventional radiology procedures and assist physicians during these critical treatments.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working 4 days a week, with on-call responsibilities one day a week and occasional weekend shifts. You must be able to respond to facility calls within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities:

  • Positioning technical support for vascular interventional radiology procedures, including arteriograms, embolizations, drain insertions, and other related procedures.
  • Ensuring proper safety standards are met for compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety standards, and joint commission regulations.
  • Operating required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Instructing students and residents and performing preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Performing quality assurance checks on equipment.
  • Demonstrating working knowledge of hospital information systems.
  • Assisting in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Participating in departmental Performance Improvement assessments and initiatives.
  • Serving as a technical resource to the full procedural team in support of the physician.
  • Communicating effectively with good interpersonal skills.
  • Aiding in ensuring safe and efficient patient care on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrating compliance with Christiana Care and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Providing duties of a scrub assistant during procedures, including controlling guide wires and balloon catheters, and maintaining a sterile field.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Experience in interventional radiology procedural labs is preferred.
  • Current A.R.R.T registration.
  • Current RTR licensure with the State of Delaware.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
