Job Summary:

As a Care Management Manager at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for overseeing daily department operations and providing support and assistance to the manager. You will be assigned distinct areas of focus within the department, such as quality/training, regional plan hospital staff management, and KP hospital staff management.

The Associate Manager under your supervision will hold direct administrative authority for the department and be directly accountable to the manager. You will be a backup resource for the staff in the absence of the manager and facilitate workflow in the department and with ancillary departments and outside services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure the provision of high-quality, reputable, and cost-effective services while meeting regulatory requirements through supervision and management of multidisciplinary professional and support staff.
  • Manage department personnel, provision of safe, cost-effective, quality patient transitions, a safe work environment, and the facilitation of educational activities for the staff.
  • Direct reports and supervision authority over those reports.
  • Use established channels of communication to share information, receive feedback, and report problems.
  • Facilitate the communication of plans and decisions to staff and providers to facilitate linkages and flow of information to others.

  • Provides clinical oversight to staff in the department (professional and support staff) to ensure staff are at capacity and have resources available to ensure growth and development.
  • Oversees orientation and development of curriculum.

  • Collaborates with other department leaders in the development of department budget, providing input and evaluation of processes, equipment, and make recommendations.
  • Educate team members on financial implications of department operations.
