A Day in the Life of a Complex Field Property Adjuster
As a Senior Claims Examiner for Large Loss Property Adjustments, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims nationwide, utilizing Xactimate and other software platforms. Your expertise will focus on water losses, ensuring our customers receive top-notch support and resolution.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You will serve as a Customer Service Expert, living up to Allstate's Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring through compassionate, clear, and committed partnerships with each claimant.
- As an Investigator, you will independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- You will act as an Effective Communicator, using phone, emails, and video chats to help customers navigate the fast, fair, and easy claims process.
- As a Negotiator, you will evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants, adhering to all legal and business standard methodologies.
- As a Problem Solver, you will utilize multiple tools to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment, including estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms, leveraging your sharp critical thinking skills.
- As a Recorder, you will protect the company financially by executing policies and agreements, maintaining accurate documentation in our claims system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
- Experience handling claims with multiple trades and over $25,000 in losses.
- Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service are required.
- Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims nationwide effectively.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Willingness to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch roof.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.
Ongoing Training and Support

Licensing Requirements
- As a condition of employment, your office may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, including passing a background check with the Department of Labor.
- If applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
Sign On Bonus
- You may be eligible for a $1000 licensing sign-on bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role.
Company Car and Benefits
Based on our Company Car Guidelines, this role may qualify for a company car. Our leadership team determines this based on annual work mileage for this location. You may be required to use your personal vehicle until these guidelines are met. We offer mileage reimbursements for personal vehicle usage during work.
