As a Medical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, identifying, and addressing the health needs of patients in our General Medical Department.

About the Role:

  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions across the healthcare continuum.
  • Employ evidence-based practices, staying current on essential competencies and maintaining currency of skills.
  • Advocate for patients' autonomy, dignity, and rights, promoting holistic care that respects their values and beliefs.
  • Foster a learning environment for patients, families, and healthcare teams, facilitating formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Align practice with safety and quality standards, using data and evidence to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, practicing to the top of license within regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead and coordinate teams, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure effective care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Washington State Registered Nurse License.
  • National Provider BLS certification.
  • 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience.
