Job Summary

Crothall Healthcare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to join their team in Beverly, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment.
  • Manage assigned equipment and schedule service.
  • Develop and maintain PM procedures, files, and manuals.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Respond to clinical department calls to evaluate and rectify equipment issues.
  • Research and order repair parts within budget parameters.
  • Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall staff.
  • Make recommendations to the Department Manager on service strategies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
  • Document significant asset-related actions.
  • Participate in department meetings and collaborate with technical personnel.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license for field service positions.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team member.
