Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Donation Attendant to join our team at the Patrick Street Store in Frederick, MD. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, receiving donations, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to donors and customers, ensuring a positive experience and promoting sales for Goodwill.
  • Receive and process donations in a timely and courteous manner, accurately labeling and placing items in the production room or sales floor.
  • Ensure that a receipt is offered to each donor, regardless of the size of the donation, and provide information on the donation process.
  • Identify and handle hazardous materials, providing locations for proper disposal and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading merchandise, operating pallet jacks and walkie stackers as needed, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on company-owned equipment, following safety rules and using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including cross-training in other store positions and maintaining regular attendance.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a forklift certification class and operate pallet jacks and walkie stackers safely.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently and maintain accurate records.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older and pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
