Primary Care Nurse Position for a Holistic Healthcare Provider

About the Role:
Health by Design is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to work in our out-patient, primary care clinic located in San Antonio. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional nursing care under the supervision of a Charge RN to a unique patient population. This position offers a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of retired first responders and other adults.

Responsibilities:
* Assess, triage, plan, provide, and evaluate patient care for designated shifts or clinics.
* Delegate tasks to licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) or medical assistants (MAs) as needed.
* Assist physicians with procedures, dressing changes, and administering medications.
* Perform phlebotomy, lab tests, and vital measurements as ordered by physicians.
* Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, medication refills, referrals, and insurance issues.
* Provide patient education on health and wellness through informal discussions and Health by Design's Health and Nutritional Coaching Programs.
* Administer allergy injections and respond to medical emergencies that present to the clinic.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate Degree or Hospital Diploma with equivalent experience accepted.
* Registered Nurse License in the state where services are provided;
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Preferred Skills:
* Computer skills, including electronic medical records, Microsoft Office Suite;
* Phlebotomy, lab collections, EKGs, wound care, nebulizer treatments, and allergy injections;
* Ability to operate and maintain clinic medical equipment.
