Job Overview

Carter Lumber is a leading provider of building materials, and we are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales force, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with customers, and driving sales growth.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $70,000 per year, plus commission. You will work independently to manage your territory, visiting job sites as needed, maintaining schedules, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth in your assigned territory.
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS TO IDENTIFY NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including yard and dispatch teams, to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, working effectively under pressure to meet sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales performance, and market trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in outside sales in the building materials industry.
  • Strong knowledge of home building basics and ability to read blueprints.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
