We are seeking a detail-oriented and approachable Nonprofit Office Coordinator to join our team in New York City. This part-time, temporary position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team providing direct support to communities in the New York area.

Job Overview

This role involves being the first point of contact, welcoming visitors, managing phone calls, and overseeing visitor access with professionalism, efficiency, and a warm, enthusiastic attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome visitors and participants with professionalism, provide assistance as needed, and direct them to the appropriate staff or resources.
  • Answer and route incoming calls promptly and accurately to the correct team members.
  • Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area to ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Provide general information about the organization to visitors and participants as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an office environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
  • The ability to engage effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating integrity, diplomacy, and initiative.
Compensation

This temporary role offers a competitive hourly salary of $18-22 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who work 30 or more hours per week.
