Job Overview:

Capgemini Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Principal SIEM Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting ArcSight or Splunk core components, as well as troubleshooting dataflow issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation: Responsible for the design and implementation of ArcSight or Splunk core components, including ESM, Loggers, Smart Connectors, Indexers, Forwarders, Search Heads, and Cluster Managers.
  2. Configuration and Administration: Configure and administer ArcSight or Splunk ingestion and forwarding for new and existing applications and data.
  3. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot ArcSight or Splunk dataflow issues between various event flow components.
  4. Data Collection: Configure and deploy data collection for a variety of operating systems and networking platforms.
  5. Dashboards and Analytics: Create Dashboards and Analytics within SIEM tools.
  6. Monitoring Systems: Work with monitoring systems supporting auditing, incident response, and system health.
  7. Networking Understanding: Have an understanding of networking components and devices, ports, protocols, and basic networking troubleshooting steps.

Requirements:

  1. US Citizenship: US citizenship is required.
  2. Clearance: Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  3. Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  4. Experience: A minimum of 8 years of related cybersecurity experience.
  5. SIEM Experience: A minimum of at least 4 years of experience with either ArcSight or Splunk.
  6. Core Component Experience: Experience in design, implementation, and support of ArcSight or Splunk core components, including: ESM, Loggers, Smart Connectors, Indexers, Forwarders, Search Heads, and Cluster Managers.
  7. Ingestion and Forwarding Experience: Experience with configuration and administration of ArcSight or Splunk ingestion and forwarding for new and existing applications and data.
  8. Troubleshooting Experience: Experience with troubleshooting ArcSight or Splunk dataflow issues between the various event flow components.
  9. Data Collection Experience: Experience configuring and deploying data collection for a variety of operating systems and networking platforms.
  10. Dashboards and Analytics Experience: Experience creating Dashboards and Analytics within SIEM tools.
  11. Monitoring Systems Experience: Experience working with monitoring systems supporting auditing, incident response, and system health.
  12. Networking Understanding: Understanding of networking components and devices, ports, protocols, and basic networking troubleshooting steps.
  13. Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to troubleshoot issues with log feeds, search time, and field extractions.
  14. Data Solution Skills: The ability to troubleshoot problems related to data solutions.

  1. NOC Experience: Network Security Operations Center (SOC) experience.
  2. Data Correlation Experience: Experience and talent in data correlation.
  3. Incident Response Experience: Experience creating workflows for Incident Response within a SIEM Tool.
  4. Cybersecurity Certifications: GIAC Certified Incident Handler Certification, GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence Certification, Cybersecurity certifications, Formal SIEM training.
