Job Title Overview

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing speech therapy services to patients, including evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders, swallowing disorders, and video fluoroscopy swallowing studies.

About the Job

This is a part-time position with occasional coverage to Geisinger Muncy as available. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and be licensed by the State of Pennsylvania. Minimum two years of related work experience is preferred, but not required. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is also a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' swallowing, speech, and language functions, and develop comprehensive care plans to restore impaired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments within 48 hours of receiving medical orders and provide written or electronic reports.
  • Develop individualized therapy interventions to improve communication, speech ability, and swallowing function.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all clinical services rendered to patients and ensure completeness of documentation.
  • Determine equipment and supply needs, and utilize budget resources to obtain necessary items.
