Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Therapist to join our team at Gersh Autism. As an ABA Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young children with autism as they develop essential life skills for greater independence.

About the Role

  • You will collaborate with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement personalized behavior plans and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
  • Your primary focus will be on providing one-to-one assistance to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a vibrant and supportive group environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Support children in reaching their full potential across various settings: school, home, and community.
  2. Participate in activities such as conducting circle time, centers, discrete trial training, structured play with peers, group motor activities, and crafts that directly support each child's developmental progress.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism is not required, but a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to keep students safe from themselves and others and in some cases may need to implement Safety Care procedures.
  • Must be able to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations and in some cases be able to lift a child.

Compensation

The starting rate is $23.00 per hour. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
