Talbot Hospice Foundation, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospice Aide/Certified Medication Technician to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility with work schedule, including willingness to work all shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hospice setting and possess strong communication skills.

Job Description

The Hospice Aide/Certified Medication Technician will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide various services for patients as necessary to meet their personal needs and promote comfort. This includes performing personal care tasks, such as bathing, back rubs, oral hygiene, and changing bed linen, as well as assisting with feeding and ambulation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for documenting observations and care performed, adhering to organizational documentation and care procedures, and participating in quality assessment performance improvement teams.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Meet the training requirements of the State and hold dual licensure as a CNA and CMT
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a flexible work schedule
  • Be willing to work all shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Understand hospice philosophy and be comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary, estimated to be around $45,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, they will receive benefits, including IRA with 3% matching, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Working Conditions

The Hospice Aide/Certified Medication Technician will work in a congregate living home-like clean environment, exposed to infectious diseases. They will need to frequently lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The ideal candidate will be self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision, secure with issues of death/dying, and able to provide a calm manner when in a patient's home.
