Shop Mechanic

Interstate Sealant and Concrete is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at our Waukesha shop. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse range of equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto, diesel, or heavy-duty fleet maintenance, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience. You will be required to travel to job sites for on-site equipment repairs, typically twice a month during busy seasons.
We offer a competitive pay rate, ranging from $25 to $35 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience and skill level. As a Mechanic at ISC, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment, including hot tar kettles, ride saws, pickup trucks, trailers, diesel air compressors, and application pumps. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing parts on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace parts on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Travel to job sites for on-site equipment repairs, typically twice a month during busy seasons.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment to ensure vehicles are fully operational.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Asset Manager to keep vehicles and equipment ready for upcoming jobs.
- Follow and uphold safety standards, including D.O.T., OSHA, and company-specific safety protocols.
- Complete fleet maintenance reports, order parts, and keep the shop organized and clean.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years of experience in auto, diesel, or heavy-duty fleet maintenance, or equivalent experience in machine shops and with mechanical systems.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel out of state as needed.
- Must have your own set of tools.
- Ability to work long hours and operate in environments with moving mechanical parts and potential exposure to outdoor weather, fumes, and chemicals.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol tests and a physical.
