About the Role

We are seeking an Event Planning Specialist to join our team at StateJobsNY in Albany. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys planning and executing events, working with a team, and ensuring every detail is perfect.

Job Summary

The Event Planning Specialist will work closely with our team to plan and coordinate events, meetings, and other functions. This includes coordinating with other departments, managing event details, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute event details as provided by the hosting Senator
  • Ensure the vision of an event comes to fruition by attending the event
  • Work professionally with graphic designers on visuals
  • Use large format printers and laminators to produce materials
  • Maintain close working relationships with other Senate Departments
  • Attend meetings with the Senate Events Manager
  • Work with Event Coordinators on the problem-solving, brainstorming new ideas, and assisting on larger Senate-wide annual events
  • Meet attendance requirements as established by the office

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • One year of event planning experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
