Cardiac Device Specialist: Delivering High-Quality Patient Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Device Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized care to patients with cardiac devices.

Job Overview

The Cardiac Device Specialist will work closely with patients in both clinic and inpatient settings, providing personalized care, patient education, and support. This role involves collaborating with a small team of nurses to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Salary and Benefits

Position Compensation Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Sign-on bonus, up to $20,000, may be available for qualified candidates.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Cardiac device experience required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and organize Cardiac Device manufacturer programmers in the Medical Center and Clinics
  2. Develop best practice standards regarding appropriate cardiac device programming for surgical patients
  3. Help coordinate cardiac device FDA recalls and advisories
  4. Support, lead, and facilitate projects across Device Clinic
  5. Provide leadership and training/development to project team members
  6. Assist with Cardiac device manufacturer bulk buys to reduce costs to the EP lab budget
  7. Help with the education of our Cardiology fellows
  8. Demonstrate clinical expertise in specific patient population(s) related to projects managed
  9. Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel
