Job Title: Cafeteria Substitution Specialist

Overview:

Boston Public Schools (BPS) is the oldest public school district in the country, serving approximately 57,000 students from over 114 different countries. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Substitute Cafeteria Attendant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to work on time as scheduled
  • Assist with food preparation, serving meals, and accounting for meal quantities
  • Clean kitchen equipment and work area, including floors
  • Set up serving lines and serve meals according to portion sizes
  • Fulfill school orders for shipment, mark packages shipped, and unpack supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and flooring
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and facility safety standards
  • Perform quality control checks to meet established standards
  • Communicate inferior products or procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Able to accept instruction and work in a team environment
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Physical requirements include walking, standing, reaching above shoulder level, stooping, lifting, carrying, bending, and pivoting
  • Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods

Compensation:
