The estimated salary for this role is between $180,000 and $220,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

About the Job

This exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Investigative Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, and retaliation.

You will serve as the Assistant Director for the Office of Professional Conduct (OPC), Intake & Investigations Section. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the technical work of investigators, ensuring accurate, complete, and succinct work product, and providing overall guidance and oversight for case intake and investigation.

In addition to your investigative expertise, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining policy and procedural documentation, providing advisory services on best practices, and making recommendations to executive management and the Board as needed.

Your duties will include:

  • Overseeing investigations into highly sensitive and complex cases of employee misconduct, harassment, and/or retaliation;
  • Leading non-criminal investigators or supervising individuals that manage such investigators;
  • Applying Federal personnel laws, rules, and regulations regarding conducting highly sensitive and complex investigations;
  • Providing comprehensive investigative training to incoming investigators and supervisory investigators;
  • Identifying resources required by the section, including advocating for staffing requirements and/or sourcing detail assistance from other divisions/offices;
  • Justifying, executing, and tracking section budget activities;
  • Ensuring that programs are administered effectively and in accordance with broadly stated objectives and priorities;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience 1: Experience in coordinating the work of employees in a work unit, including assigning and evaluating work, setting priorities, timelines, and expectations, and monitoring progress against goals;
  • Leadership Experience 2: Experience in setting performance expectations, assessing employee performance, providing recognition and rewards, providing feedback and development opportunities, addressing performance or conduct issues, and participating in recruitment and hiring activities;
  • Technical Experience 1: Experience in leading investigations into highly sensitive and complex cases of employee misconduct, harassment, and/or retaliation;
  • Technical Experience 2: Experience in applying Federal personnel laws, rules, and regulations regarding conducting highly sensitive and complex investigations;
  • Technical Experience 3: Experience in leading non-criminal investigators or supervising individuals that manage such investigators;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance;
  • U.S. Citizenship is required;
  • Registration with the Selective Service;
  • High-Risk-Critical Sensitive (CS) certification;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
