Job Description

Hamilton-Madison House (HMH) is a leading provider of behavioral health services for New York City's Asian community. The organization serves nearly 1,000 community members through a comprehensive program model that incorporates individual cultures and addresses mental illness stigma. Services range from psychological services to recovery-oriented services, addiction programming, supportive housing, and training opportunities for graduate students.

The HMH outpatient mental health clinic is a high-need area, selected to participate in the CONNECT Demonstration Project. This project provides rapid access to mental health services in a flexible and holistic way within the community. The Staff Psychologist will be responsible for direct clinical work with clients in the behavioral health division, prioritizing those in the CONNECT program. The position may also include supervisory and research opportunities, as well as maintaining partnerships with other organizations on service delivery and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments, evaluate symptoms, and treatment course
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy using different modalities
  • Conduct psychological testing and extended assessments to aid in treatment recommendations
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Work with an underserved and diverse group of individuals, including substance use and/or justice-involved individuals
  • Provide after-hours crisis intervention services
  • Maintain medical records documentation according to HMH policies and procedures
  • Provide clinical supervision and teaching on evidence-based treatments
  • Attend and present in case conferences and program meetings

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology
  • Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education
  • Effective interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or substance use in a diverse environment
  • Knowledge and experience related to crisis planning

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $65,000 to $73,000
  • 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday
