The Role

As a Residential Support Staff member at Hurley House, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, and upholding the integrity and confidentiality of our programs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate log entries to ensure transparent record-keeping.
  • Perform regular hourly rounds inside and outside the program to guarantee resident safety.
  • Conduct thorough bedroom checks to identify potential hazards and maintain a secure environment.
  • Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to MHSA protocols.
  • Attend staff meetings as required to stay informed about program updates and initiatives.
  • Ensure client/resident safety and cleanliness of the House at all times, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Clear obstacles on sidewalks, porches, stairs, and doorways to facilitate proper access and egress.
  • Consistently follow Program policies and protocols in all functions, promoting a culture of compliance.
  • Supervise urine drug-screening collection processes and administer medications according to Program-specific policies and BSAS protocols.
  • Prioritize the protection of clients' and Program confidentiality at all times.
  • Be present and punctual for all assigned shifts, demonstrating reliability and respect for colleagues.
  • Conduct fire drills using the evacuation plan to ensure preparedness.
  • Adhere to MHSA policies regarding boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Participate in in-service and outside training as directed by the Program Director, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
  • Undertake various other responsibilities assigned by the Program Director or Assistant Program Director to ensure the smooth functioning of the program.

Requirements

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctual reporting for work is essential.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Candidates should possess competent written and oral communication skills to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team is vital for success in this role.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification is required, with MHSA providing training opportunities.
  • A valid ID and reliable personal transportation for work activities are mandatory.
  • Bilingualism in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
