Maintenance Manager Job Description

As a key member of the leadership team at Bodycote, the Maintenance Manager will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for the maintenance functions of our Berlin, CT plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Maintenance Duties: Responsible for all general maintenance duties including painting, cleaning, fixture/tooling fabrication, installing belts, bearings, chains, etc.
  • Plant Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining plant equipment, including preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Performance: Monitor, reinforce, and oversee the health, safety, and environmental performance of the department and employees.
  • Maintenance Department Supervision: Supervise and direct all maintenance department employees including discipline and reviews.

Requirements:

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Education – College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school or equivalent plus 5 years industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Must have advanced training in electrical experience.
  • Must have experience with welding, cutting, brazing, etc., and working knowledge of electricity.
  • Must have general knowledge of hydraulics and furnaces and be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends, and be on call as needed.
