Job Summary

This position is responsible for supervising individuals on probation, parole, or both, to facilitate rehabilitation and reintegration into society while ensuring public safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and provide necessary counseling, housing, employment, or educational referrals to facilitate success.
  • Supervise individuals based on the appropriate supervision level, including regular face-to-face or telephonic meetings, field calls, random drug testing, and addressing violations as deemed appropriate.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Any combination of education and experience in behavioral case management, commissioned or non-commissioned law enforcement, military law enforcement, or as a Probation Officer of the Courts, Disciplinary Hearing Officer, Administrative Law Judge, or Adult or Juvenile Correctional Officer totaling two years may substitute for the required education.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. May be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.

Employment Requirements
  • Pre-employment and random testing for alcohol and/or drug use.
  • Successful completion of Defensive Tactics and Restraint Courses, including exposure to Mace/OC Spray, within one year from date of hire.
  • Successful completion of First Aid and CPR Courses within one year from date of hire.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License.
