We are pleased to announce a significant opportunity for a Regional Market Selection Supervisor within our operations. In this vital position, you will be responsible for forecasting and identifying market hog sales, while overseeing the selection processes, training initiatives, and audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators for selectors in the region, implementing tailored training programs to enhance performance.
  • Conduct site audits and follow up in the field for locations with suspected selection or loadout discrepancies, sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage in monthly and quarterly discussions regarding marketing strategies.
  • Assess hog body composition at finishing sites to accurately project sales in line with marketing requirements.
  • Identify and designate hogs for movement or sale to appropriate destinations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of load movement documentation to necessary farm locations.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors and production teams regarding group performance, providing data through written reports and emails.
  • Count inventory and track the number of hogs scheduled for sale as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • This role requires extensive travel throughout the week, with a company vehicle provided.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or a minimum of 1 year of relevant swine experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
SCHEDULE

The work hours and days are determined by departmental needs and management discretion.

  • Regular movement around the facility is required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

  • This is primarily a field-based position.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and airborne particles may occur.
  • The noise level in the work environment varies based on location.
  • Work hours and days are subject to departmental needs and management discretion, including potential after-hours, weekends, and overnight travel.
