Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Control Physician Assistant to lead our Community Paramedicine Program in Rockland County, NY. As the CP Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the program's operations, working closely with Rockland Paramedic Services, and ensuring that complex patients receive the right care at the right time.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and experience working in emergency medicine or inpatient settings. You will be responsible for coordinating patient care, providing medical control, and working collaboratively with local healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions of care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide medical control for the Community Paramedicine Program and be certified by the Hudson Valley Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (HVREMSCO)
  • Oversight of community paramedics, including patient care and clear instructions within their scope of practice
  • Maintain knowledge levels through continued education, as required by HVREMSCO and NYS DOH
  • Assist the Medical Control Hospital Medical Director with coordination and implementation of the Medical Control system
  • Collect and review data on pre-hospital patient care quality and report to the Medical Control Hospital Medical Director
  • Coordinate with local EMS agency quality improvement committees as directed
  • Actively enroll Med PC patients in the CP Program and assist case managers in evaluating new patients prior to discharge
  • Develop and maintain relationships with primary care/specialty providers for referrals and enrollment
  • Meet daily with community paramedics and case management to discuss enrolled patients and needed clinical visits
Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree with certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant degree, or higher. They must be licensed in New York State and possess ACLS certification. Experience working in emergency medicine or inpatient settings is preferred.

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
