Overview

As a Senior Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the ID Card Center Branch of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Career transition candidates (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL)

Agency Clarification

Eligibility extends to DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) candidates, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference candidates, as well as DoD Retained Grade Preference candidates and VEOA candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and ensure corrective actions on forms and documents to assess eligibility for DEERS enrollment and ID card issuance.
  • Guide junior staff in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
  • Conduct training sessions on policy changes and procedural updates for all verifying officials.
  • Evaluate customer eligibility for various benefits on a case-by-case basis.
  • Maintain positive customer relations.
  • Manage the issuance of identification tags and Geneva Convention Cards to military personnel, deploying civilian employees, and other eligible recipients.
Employment Conditions
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be deemed suitable for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
  • New hires must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees must have served at least one year at the next lower grade level to apply for GS jobs.
  • Retired military members must adhere to specific provisions regarding civilian positions.
  • Males born after a certain date must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Completion of training and maintenance of a government credit card for travel-related expenses is required.
  • This position may involve travel to various locations, including remote sites.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to starting the role.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector, focusing on procedural reviews of personnel actions, including pay and benefits entitlements.
