About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coder Ambulatory Procedure Visit to join our team at The Arora Group. As a Medical Coder Ambulatory Procedure Visit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of coded information for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of ICD-CM, HCPCS, and CPT to assign accurate codes to patient encounters.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy requirements affecting coded information and maintain technical currency through continuing education and training opportunities.
  • Review documentation to identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, or discrepancies that could cause inaccurate coding or medico-legal repercussions.
  • Develop and submit written queries to providers to request clarification of conflicting, ambiguous, or incomplete documentation.
  • Assign accurate codes to encounters based on provider responses to queries and report all queries and responses in accordance with established guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Health Information Management or a related field.
  • Four years of medical coding and/or auditing experience in at least two or more medical, surgical, and ancillary specialties within the last 10 years.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification from AHIMA.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CSS-P) certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
