About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide social work services to families seen by the Early Childhood Clinic, conducting psychosocial histories and leading support groups for children with autism diagnosis.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting comprehensive psychosocial histories for families
  • Leading first-time autism diagnosis support groups for siblings of affected children
  • Providing family follow-up after initial consultation
  • Connecting families with resources such as Early Intervention, Committee for Preschool Special Education, and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare or related field
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Experience working with children with autism diagnosis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $ $73,760 - $93,660 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation, and employment is subject to its policies and procedures. This FLSA Non-Exempt position is eligible for overtime provisions. We are unable to sponsor candidates for work visas.
