Job Summary

Smart AutoCare is seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Reinsurance Department, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles to prepare financial reports and analyze financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and account analysis
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
  • Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile administrative system and general ledger
  • Manage cash and trust accounts, including tracking and reconciliation
  • Prepare reinsurance cessions statements and related reconciliations
  • Review and ensure reinsurance tables are established and entities are created and documented as needed
  • Research and follow up on documents necessary for formation of reinsurance companies and bank accounts
  • Participate in special projects as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or Associate's degree in Accounting
  • One year of work experience preferred
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with QuickBooks a plus
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Experience working for an administrative company or insurance company a plus
  • Insurance/Reinsurance Accounting experience a plus
