As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you'll play a critical role in conducting, supervising, or directing waste and remediation engineering projects. Your expertise will be essential in planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity. You'll work on diverse remedial engineering projects involving a wide range of contaminants and innovative remedial technologies. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you lead a team of staff engineers in preparing design deliverables, including strategic planning, engineering design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction schedules. You'll also participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and negotiate remedial actions. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be crucial in data analysis, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, plans, and specifications. You'll also have the opportunity to train and mentor personnel as established by strategic plans.

The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct, supervise, or direct waste and remediation engineering projects
  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Work on diverse remedial engineering projects involving a wide range of contaminants and innovative remedial technologies
  • Lead a team of staff engineers in preparing design deliverables
  • Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and negotiate remedial actions
  • Work independently on technical tasks involving data analysis, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, plans, and specifications
  • Delegate and supervise junior engineers on remediation design components and staff of professionals and technicians on remedial investigations
  • Train and mentor personnel as established by strategic plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing design plans, specifications, and reports for CERCLA remedies
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal development
  • Demonstrated experience in project development and execution in the public and private sectors
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in remedial investigation, design, and implementation of remedial actions, as well as some project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (including Access, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Experience with soil and groundwater remedial technologies is preferred
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
