Cleanliness Specialist for Commercial Kitchen Environment

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleanliness Specialist to join our team at Richland Community College. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our commercial kitchen environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
- Ensure that all designated work areas are kept clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, silverware, trays, and cooking utensils, then place them in racks for washing.
- Operate dishwashing machines and wash dishes by hand when required.
- Allow dishes to dry, then sort and stack clean dishes.
- Transport clean dishes to storage areas or cafeterias using carts or golf carts.
- Put away food deliveries and maintain inventory levels.
- Change dish water in dishwashing machines and sinks as instructed.
- Clean and maintain dish machines and sinks.
- Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen area.
- Sweep and mop floors to ensure a safe working environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid food handling license is necessary; candidates willing to obtain the license at their own expense will be considered.
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential.
- Candidates must be able to work effectively with colleagues, police recruits, corrections cadets, staff, guests, and catering clients.
- A strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently are crucial.
- Familiarity with proper sanitation techniques is mandatory.
- A Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment is highly desirable.
This role requires working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, perform physical tasks, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Compensation:The salary for this position is $16.05 per hour, reflecting the college's pay band N-6.
