**Job Overview:**

Drr Systems Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team. This full-time position involves designing and developing mechanical systems, including sheet metal assemblies and air handling systems.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including sheet metal assemblies and air handling systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.
  • Interpret schematics to develop complete system designs.
  • Travel to customer sites to participate in field measurements.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers to effectively communicate design concepts and specifications.
  • Control and document the distribution and archiving of drawings and documents.
  • Analyze and solve real or potential design problems.
  • Participate in design review meetings to ensure design quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and create Bills-of-Material from detailed drawings.
  • Release the engineering package to manufacturing and support manufacturing by answering questions and inspecting the fabrication process.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred.
  • Experience designing sheet metal assemblies and air handling systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical layout, detail drawings, and basic piping preferred.
  • Prior experience with PLM software (SAP, Oracle, etc...) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Strong skills in math and geometry.
  • Proficient in the use of Solidworks (2D and 3D) and AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Able to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to technically define problems and propose solutions.
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment.
  • Self-starter capable of executing assigned tasks and solving problems in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

**Additional Requirements:**

  • Pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.

**Salary:** $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
