Job Summary
- Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned spaces daily, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Follow established policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as needed.
- Stock paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as required or designated.
- Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and store in designated storage areas.
- Promote workplace safety by using wet floor signs, personal protective equipment, and properly handling chemicals and equipment.
- Notify supervisors of equipment needing repairs and report any safety hazards to management.
- Communicate issues and concerns with supervisors, being proactive in addressing observed deficiencies.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or one year of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, janitorial, or a related field in lieu of high school diploma/GED.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff, and use proper tracking and communication tools.
- Willingness to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
