The position of Computer Lab Supervisor at Eastern New Mexico University is a key role in maintaining and enhancing the academic computing environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to supervise the computer lab, ensuring its effective operation and supporting faculty and students with their technology needs.

About the Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Support: Develop regular maintenance procedures for lab equipment, identify and investigate emerging trends in computer lab technology, and implement solutions to improve lab usage.
  • Scheduling and Supervision: Supervise and schedule student lab assistants, develop formal training procedures for them, and create a comprehensive Student Lab Assistant Handbook.
  • Academic Support: Plan and implement academic help material and training for faculty and students, coordinate the development of these resources, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Laboratory Management: Maintain lab software and license agreements, prepare and administer user surveys, and perform analysis on hardware and software.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, and one year of demonstrated computer support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Leadership and Organization: Ability to plan, organize, and supervise work, exercise considerable judgment, and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic theory and operation of computers and computer software, ability to present moderate technical information, and working knowledge of Windows, MAC, UNIX, Internet, desktop publishing, and Microsoft Office.
  • Collaboration and Training: Ability to train other employees, utilize post-instructional evaluation methods, and install software applications using only accompanying documentation.
Work Environment and Conditions

The work environment is located inside a non-smoking facility. You must be able to alternate work positions between sitting, standing, and walking as needed. This role requires medium work: lifting up to 50lbs; talking; seeing; and hearing.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 based on the location and industry standards.
