We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Per Diem MRI Technologist to join our team at Children's Hospital Boston.
Job Summary:The Per Diem MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform MRI procedures on patients, ensuring accurate and safe imaging results.
- Review and evaluate requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed.
- Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
- Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
- Explain the examination and answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment.
- Follows MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations.
- Practices High Reliability Training.
- Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Complies with ETU and HIPPA regulations.
- Practices the BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
- Completes all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.
- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.
- Associates Degree in Allied Health.
- MRI Certification.
The Per Diem MRI Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment at Boston Children's Hospital, with a regular schedule of 1 day per week.
