Public Health Care Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Care Manager to lead our Street Medicine program. This position plays a critical role in promoting health and well-being among individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness through street medicine.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, coordination, direction, and monitoring of all operational and financial aspects of the program. This includes providing effective leadership to the street team staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
This role involves working closely with underserved patients, collaborating with health plans and providers, and fostering ongoing communication and collaboration locally. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall direction and guidance to the street medicine team, including recruiting, screening, hiring, orienting, and training staff.
- Stay informed of changes in policy or programs impacting street medicine and advise on adjustments to benefit people experiencing homelessness.
- Establish, implement, and ensure adherence to operational policies, objectives, goals, reporting tools, and major plans for the department.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, complaints, or suggestions from physicians, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Develop and implement security-related procedures to ensure scene safety at all times.
- Coordinate security activities with the JWCH Security Office Manager and promote standards for security-conscious awareness and behavior.
- Attend regional meetings held monthly and quarterly with health plans and providers to foster ongoing communication and collaboration locally.
- Maintain open communication with health plans and providers, addressing unresolved issues impacting street medicine practice.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinic Operations to enhance provider efficiency and resolve street medicine/clinic-related issues as necessary.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, or bachelor's degree with three or more years of health care management experience.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local funding designated for health services.
- Experience working with clients or patients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Bilingual/Bi-cultural (Spanish/English) preferred.
