Job Description

As a Senior Operations Manager within the Paychex Insurance Agency, you will oversee the Regional Operations team of account representatives and account managers within the health & benefits team. Your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue growth for an allocated book of business, while providing direct supervision for exempt and non-exempt staff in an account management environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow a specified book of business, focusing on Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients with annual revenue exceeding $2 million.
  • Promote client retention targets through effective onboarding processes, annual renewals, and expansion of existing client relationships to increase product line penetration.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with H&B sales, HR Solutions, MMS Product Management, Operations, IT, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Support ongoing relationship and process improvement initiatives with H&B sales districts and operational regions.
  • Negotiate and maintain carrier relationships, including General Agents, to provide prompt and efficient service to assigned client teams.
  • Ensure the team meets or exceeds established productivity and quality standards.
  • Communicate clear expectations to team members and regularly review processes to guarantee alignment with operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Agency Compliance, carriers, and Paychex Legal to ensure compliance with federal, state, and insurance carrier guidelines, as well as internal standards.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing products and operational processes, aiming to create efficiencies and maintain service levels.
  • Review business processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to internal and external client service level standards, recommending necessary changes to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Recruit, select, hire, and evaluate personnel to meet departmental needs, providing career development training programs and resources for professional advancement.
  • Assist Agency management in achieving budgeted projections through labor expense and administrative expense controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience and 3 years of related experience.
  • Relevant insurance license eligibility in all 50 states may require an enhanced background check. If not currently licensed, obtaining necessary licenses within 90 calendar days of the official start date is mandatory.
Compensation

The estimated starting base pay range for this position is $53,856 - $84,631 per year, plus additional components that contribute to the total rewards package. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.
