Patient Care Coordinator Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator is a vital member of our Comprehensive Community Health Centers Inc. team, serving as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and guests. This role requires a strong understanding of medical and dental office procedures, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to accurately input data into our computer system.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and greeting patients, visitors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Registering new patients and updating existing patient demographics, ensuring all necessary information is collected and accurate.
- Verifying insurance and obtaining necessary authorizations, assigning correct pay types, and collecting payments due.
- Maintaining provider schedules, ensuring timely and efficient patient flow.
- Responding to patient inquiries, taking messages for providers and staff, and maintaining a clean and organized front office and reception area.
- Attending trainings and meetings as needed, staying up-to-date on HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in a Community Health setting preferred.
- Medical or Dental Assistant Certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
