Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Amedisys, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families providing much needed care where they want to be – in their homes.

You will perform patient assessments and collaborate with the care team to develop and implement a plan of care. You will also promote patient health and independence through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures, assisting patients in learning appropriate self-care techniques.

Responsibilities include making referrals to other disciplines as indicated by the patient's identified needs or documenting rationale for not doing so. You will supervise LPNs and HHAs, complete documentation timely and accurately, and regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager and care team.

Additionally, you will participate in clinical development and continuing education programs, and perform on-call responsibilities and on-call services to patients/families as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • One (1+) year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance
