About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Nuclear Command Communications Systems Group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative solutions for national defense challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to teams working on systems development, requirements analysis, and test evaluation.
  • Participate in the development of technical direction and ensure that developed systems meet user needs while mitigating program risks.
  • Conduct analysis and identify solutions to address critical technical challenges and meet program milestones.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and analysts to apply innovative solutions to real-world defense system problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • At least ten years of relevant experience in a technical position, with a strong background in systems engineering, software development, and test evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with government and military leadership.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers and/or scientists, with demonstrated results.
  • Experience working with Government and Military leadership, presenting complex analysis, and coordinating across a geographically dispersed team.
  • Active US Top Secret/SCI Security clearance.
