About the Role

ValidaTek is seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our team in supporting a large telecommunications and networking infrastructure within a secured DoD environment.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic and cabling systems to ensure connectivity and performance. They will adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, focusing on the utilization of best practices and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and emergency repairs as needed
  • Ensure proper documentation of all installations and repairs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and resolve issues related to the telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Cable Technician within a DoD IT environment
  • Familiarity with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards
  • Proficiency in using network cabling test equipment, including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs, and fiber power meters
  • Experience analyzing, administering, and maintaining telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure
  • Strong communication and customer support skills, with ability to work effectively with leadership and stakeholders
Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $38,934 - $64,890 per year, based on factors such as experience, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals with demonstrated tenure, seniority, and excellent performance.
