Job Summary

This role requires a clinical expert with a focus on collaborative support for clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in integrating best and evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty or practice area.

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist designs, implements, and evaluates patient-specific and hospital-based programs of care. This includes serving as a patient advocate, nurse leader, consultant, change agent, and educator.

The Specialist is responsible for clinical nursing standards of practice, education, research, and evidence-based practice. They share accountability with the interdependent leadership team for designated performance outcomes related to specific clinical service areas.

The successful candidate will participate in organization-wide initiatives and collaborate with nursing leadership to assess, develop, and implement staff development and competency programs.

This role ensures staff competencies, practice patterns, and care coordination processes achieve highest quality patient care outcomes.

The Clinical Nursing Excellence Specialist functions as an expert clinician, role model, researcher, educator, and mentor for clinical staff. They identify staff strengths and opportunities for development through learning needs assessments and structure experiences for staff members' continual learning.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a work-related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 5 years nursing experience, including training and development of clinical staff
  • Certification as appropriate for the unit or service
Salary

$68,000 - $80,000 per year
