Position Title: In-House Counsel

Location: Arcadia, CA

Compensation: $100,000-$130,000

Required Expertise: Knowledge in Real Estate and Property Management Law, Unlawful Detainers, Habitability Claims, Employment Claims, and Litigation.

About the Organization: Talently Recruiting is a well-established entity in the real estate investment and property management sector. Our extensive portfolio across Southern California encompasses multifamily, office, and hospitality properties. We seek individuals with 1-3 years of litigation experience who possess a genuine interest in real estate.

Key Responsibilities: As In-House Counsel, you will support the General Counsel in various legal matters. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting legal research on diverse topics such as real estate, employment disputes, and habitability claims.
  • Managing the Unlawful Detainer docket, performing discovery, engaging in motion practice, and preparing for trials.
  • Representing the organization in motion hearings, ex-parte hearings, and trials.
  • Assisting in pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts.
  • Reviewing and updating corporate documentation, including lease agreements and property management forms.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and good standing with the California Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in litigation and trial preparation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in discovery processes, including written discovery, depositions, and third-party subpoenas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Unlawful Detainer trials is a significant advantage.
