Occupational Therapist for Student Success

ProCare Therapy seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students in Avon, NY. With a strong background in occupational therapy and experience working with students, you will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a diverse student population, conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to enhance students' abilities to participate in school activities.

School-Based Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students to determine their functional abilities and needs within the school environment.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans based on student evaluations.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students to improve fine motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and overall functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive educational environment.
  • Educate students, parents, and school staff on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support ongoing development and participation in school activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of occupational therapy through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in New York.
  • Experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, student-centered care.
