Culinary Expertise

Alyeska Resort seeks a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality ingredients, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Cooking and Plating: Cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and side dishes, and present them attractively according to our restaurant's standards.
  • Recipe Execution: Follow recipes closely to maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance, and adjust recipes as needed for dietary restrictions.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, and report low stock or inventory issues to the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Kitchen Maintenance and Cleaning: Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly after use, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of service, and communicate effectively with servers, other cooks, and the head chef.
  • Time and Workflow Management: Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict timelines, and prioritize orders to ensure that food is prepared and served on time.
Essential Skills and Experience

A professional cook at this level must possess a combination of technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including a strong understanding of various cooking techniques, familiarity with different cuisines, and proficiency in using knives for chopping, slicing, dicing, and mincing ingredients accurately and safely. Additionally, you should be able to modify recipes for different dietary restrictions or preferences without sacrificing flavor or quality, and demonstrate creativity in developing new dishes or improving existing recipes.
