Lead Development Strategist for Community Revitalization

The Sr. Director of Development at Bonton Farms is responsible for leading the organization's fundraising efforts to support mission-based programming. This includes creating, implementing, and evaluating development strategies to engage and motivate donors, meeting annual fund goals.
Fundraising Strategy and Implementation:- Comprehensive Fundraising Plans: Develop and execute plans to support strategic objectives and annual budget, including direct mail and online solicitations.
- Prospect Research: Identify and research prospective donors, individuals, foundations, corporations, and government grants.
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Create and implement plans to build and maintain relationships with donors for all levels of those involved in the fundraising process, including the CEO, development team, and other Bonton Farms team members.
- Pipeline Development: Utilize the annual giving campaign to develop a pipeline of prospects for Bonton Farms' Major Gifts Program by identifying prospects for next-level giving.
- Major Gift Prospects and Donors: Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, conducting regular follow-ups and personal visits.
- Reports and Analysis: Provide reports, analysis, and donor pre-meeting information to the President.
- Events Committee: Create and direct an Events Committee of volunteers to maximize impact and fundraising through development events.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, volunteers, and community leaders.
- Donor Recognition and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate donor recognition and reporting.
- Donor Management System: Oversee the management and utilization of the donor management system to track donor interactions, giving history, and other relevant data.
- Grant Opportunities: Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Grant Proposals: Write and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to foundations and other grant-making entities.
- Grant Records: Maintain grant records and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Fundraising Events: Plan and execute fundraising events, including annual galas, benefit dinners, and community outreach events, with the assistance of the development team.
- Event Logistics: Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and volunteer coordination.
- Engagement Programs: Increase engagement with the organization's club with a more structured and defined program.
- Fundraising Materials: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
- Campaigns and Awareness: Develop and implement campaigns to increase public awareness and support for the organization.
- Community Representation: Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities.
- Development Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor development staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Executive Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Fundraising Progress Reports: Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising progress to the executive team and board.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- CFRE Certification: CFRE certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of successful donor cultivation and solicitation; minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and managing fundraising events.
- Donor Database Proficiency: Proficiency in donor management systems, including reporting and analysis.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and location. The salary range is based on national averages for similar positions in the non-profit sector.
