Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Lead UX Designer to join our pioneering team and propel us towards our destination. As a key member of our design team, you will have the opportunity to be on the forefront of building this business and bring our tools to market.

As a Lead UX Designer at Capital One, you will be responsible for handling responsibilities such as strategy and planning, collaborating with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs, translating complex ideas into understandable concepts, engaging in portfolio prioritization, and managing through shifting priorities.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our team of innovative product, tech, and design leaders who tirelessly seek to question the status quo. As a Lead UX Designer, you will be working on building cloud and data management tools that didn't exist in the marketplace, enabling us to operate at scale in the cloud.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs.
  • Translating complex ideas into understandable concepts.
  • Engaging in portfolio prioritization to help set the strategy and product road map for the team.
  • Managing through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definition.
  • Advocating for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research sketch sessions, and user testing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years of experience with User Experience design, including experience designing for cross-channel experiences, working with a variety of business partners, and delivering outcomes. Familiarity with design and prototyping tools, such as Sketch and/or Figma, is also essential.

In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about advocating for user needs and delivering world-class products that redefine our customers' day-to-day activities. A strong understanding of human-centered design methods, including discovery, research sketch sessions, and user testing, is also necessary.

Benefits

As a Lead UX Designer at Capital One, you will have access to a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial, and other benefits that support your total well-being. These benefits include a competitive annual salary range of $163,300 - $227,200, depending on location, as well as performance-based incentive compensation.

Please note that eligibility for benefits varies based on full or part-time status, exempt or non-exempt status, and management level.

Location

This role is available in New York City (Hybrid On-Site) and San Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site). Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
